Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer

Eclipse (Twilight, #3)Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

So I think Eclipse was better than New Moon but definitely still not as good as the first book, Twilight. Eclipse definitely added some twists and turns but at many points in the novel I just wanted to sit Bella, Edward and Jacob down and say, "Hey, we all know how it is, you two love each other - get together and stay that way; you two are just friends - accept it and get over it; you two just hate each other - just be nice around Bella mmmkay?"

However, as I stated in my review of New Moon - I'm still a sucker for a love story and have to finish the series. However, my desire to finish the series is not so bad that I need to go out and buy the hardcover book when the other three books I own are softcover (I do like my series to match if possible). It's also not so bad that I am want to borrow the book from my several friends who have the hardcovers and have already finished reading the story months up on months ago.

New Moon by Stephanie Meyer (Twilight Series #2)

New Moon (Twilight, #2)New Moon by Stephenie Meyer

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The first book was better. Classic love story which I'm a sucker for. Good enough read that I want to finish the series just to see what happens.

I really wish I had more to say about this book but the above 3 sentences pretty much sums it up. I think I am enjoying the love story aspect of the novels more than I am enjoying the vampires and werewolves aspect of it. These are not my idea of the typical vampire/werewolf romance and that's okay. Like I said, I'm more into the story line than picking apart whether vampires really sparkle and drive luxury vehicles or not.

Exile by R.A. Salvatore

Exile (Forgotten Realms: Dark Elf Trilogy, #2; Legend of Drizzt, #2)Exile by R.A. Salvatore

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I finally finished reading this second book in the Dark Elf Trilogy and I definitely enjoyed it. I enjoyed following Drizzt on his adventure and reading about the emotions he was going through. His character just keeps on developing and developing and I keep wondering what else he will learn about himself.

None the less I only gave this novel 3 stars because I really did enjoy the first book better and I don't think this one was quite as good. However, it was captivating enough that I will have to read the third book in the trilogy.

Maybe it's just me or maybe it's the genre I'm reading here but I find that the Dark Elf Trilogy goes really slow for me. What I mean by this is that it takes me forever to get through the novel. I don't read it as quick as some of the other genres of books I read. It may be because fantasy novels require such a high attention to details and it wears me out. I enjoy being able to envision a scene in my head the way I think it would look. When an author gives too many details I feel like there isn't any room for my vision and it bothers me. It's not a positive or negative thing but just a preference.

The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks

The Lucky OneThe Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks was a great read! I have been a fan of all of his novels so I may be biased when I say that I fell in love with this love story. I really enjoying learning about each individual character's personality, history and thoughts. I find that Sparks really develops his characters and story line well which is why he is able to write so many novels with the same, classic, love story formula. It just works and his writing draws you into the scene and into the lives of his characters.

I highly recommend this love story between a former solider just searching for the "lucky one" who saved his life.

Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1) Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

My review

This book reminds me a lot of Angel (the series that was on the WB). But of course, I can't help but fall in love with a good vampire-based novel. They happen to be my favorite.

I have to admit, Twilight sucked me in, I resisted the craze for a while but couldn't help but decide to read book 1 before I bought the rest. I read it in one night, 500+ pages and six hours of insomnia later I wanted to find book 2.

The story of Bella and Edward falling in love was great. Perhaps it was just a little too idealistic though. Everything goes well, she's not afraid, he didn't really resist to her knowing that he was a vampire. It has a good story line to it so far but you sort of know what's going to happen. That can be a good and bad thing I guess.

Blogging Addition: So I've gone out and bought New Moon but I haven't started it. I've decided to read Eragon first. Anyway, back to Twilight. It was a good teenage love story. I think it could use a little bit more detail in some places. You can tell it was written for a teen audience though so I guess I shouldn't expect too much out of it. It definitely has me hooked and wanting to read more.
